Kriss Ann Mann, CPA

A recent Principal in Mann, Urrutia, Nelson, CPAs & Associates, LLP, (the Firm), Kriss previously was a partner in a CPA firm in Southern California, and oversaw the accounting systems and financial functions of client services provided. Her expertise and knowledge extends to preparation of financial statements, tax returns, and conducting tax planning. She frequently consults with businesses to assure proper systems and controls for accounts receivable and payable are in place, as well as reviewing the cash receipts functions, preparing payroll and general ledger maintenance. Her knowledge in college planning has led to several speaking engagements as well as television appearances for audiences interested in college planning integrated with financial services and tax strategies.

Financial Services

Kriss has been involved with audits, as well as the preparation of financial reports, tax forms, and other special projects pertaining to a variety of businesses. Her experience includes:

• Assisting Independent Practice Associations (IPAs) in start-up, monitoring IBNR calculations, verifying year-end bonus calculations and maximizing tax benefits
• Assisting medical groups in structuring software for claims reporting and working with computer technicians in creating interface programs to work simultaneously with financial software
• Preparation, implementation and monitoring budgets
• Medical practice acquisition and dissolution
• Analyzing and implementing internal controls in various businesses
• Extensive tax planning to optimize benefits for businesses and their owners
• Assisting medical practices and businesses with accounting information systems to facilitate the supervision of financial growth or decline

Education and Training

Kriss is a Certified Public Accountant. She also earned the designation CCPS (Certified College Planning Specialist) with the National Institute of Certified College Planners. She attended the University of Kansas, and Washburn University, receiving both a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and an Associate of Arts degree in Paralegal. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants.
